Cabins among the trees
Each cabin stands on its own, screened by native growth and well back from the road. Windows face the bush, decks face the light, and the noise of the valley arrives softened by the trees.
Huon Valley · Tasmania
Separate timber cabins tucked into the bush and caravan sites for travellers who bring their own setup — a quiet place to slow down, breathe easy and stay as long as you like.
A small holiday park in the eucalypt bush, at the southern end of Tasmania’s most beautiful valley.
Lucky Hills Holiday Park sits in the Huon Valley, in the south of Tasmania — a place of tall forest, clear river water and long, quiet evenings. The park is made up of separate cabins set back among the trees, and caravan sites for travellers who bring their own setup.
There is a rhythm to a few days here. Coffee on the step of your cabin. A walk down the road to the river. A fire going and nothing on the schedule. We are a small park, and that is rather the point: we are here to help you settle in and stay a while.
Wake to birdsong instead of traffic.
Details of each site — servicing, access and what is included — are confirmed with you directly when you enquire, so there are no surprises on arrival.
Separate timber cabins scattered through the bush. Close the door, put the kettle on, and let the forest set the pace for the day.
Each cabin stands on its own, screened by native growth and well back from the road. Windows face the bush, decks face the light, and the noise of the valley arrives softened by the trees.
Timber-lined walls, simple furnishing and low, soft light. A cabin that asks very little of you except that you settle in and stay a while.
No alarm clocks, no itineraries. Just a step to sit on, a book to open and the sound of the bush waking up around you.
Good to know: cabin layouts, bedding arrangements and what is included vary from cabin to cabin. Tell us who is travelling and we will recommend the best fit — then confirm the details for your dates before you book.
Bring your own setup Prefer to bring your caravan? Park up among the trees and make the valley your base camp.
Our caravan sites sit within the park’s bushland, with space to pull in, set up and settle in without feeling hemmed in. Some sites sit back from the main path for a quieter outlook, others are more convenient for coming and going — we will match you to the one that suits your rig and your plans.
You know the caravan you travel with — bring it, and we will help you find the right spot for it.
Enough space around your site to open the awning, pull out the table and still feel like you have the place to yourself.
Easy drives to the river, the villages, the vineyards and the walking trails beyond the park.
Site size, power, water and servicing differ from spot to spot, so we confirm them with you in your enquiry — before you set off, not after you arrive.
Everything you need to settle in comfortably — and nothing that gets in the way of the view.
Your own cabin with its own door and its own stretch of bush — a quiet base for couples, families and small groups.
Room for your caravan among the trees, with the park’s walking tracks and the open valley within easy reach.
Set in bushland away from the through traffic, with space to wander between the trees and settle in for the evening.
Village shops, galleries, local seafood and the river itself are all a short drive from the park gates.

Servicing, power, water, waste points and site access can differ between one spot in the park and the next. Tell us what you need and we will confirm the details for the exact site you are hoping to take — and let you know before you commit.
The valley is small on a map and full on the ground — a river, a working waterfront, orchard country and wild coast all within a short drive.
The Huon River carries the valley all the way down to the bay.
Wooded banks, slow brown water and the kind of pull-over spot that makes you glad you took the long way round. Kayak it, fish it, or simply watch it go by.
The heart of the valley: a working waterfront, galleries, good coffee and seafood worth planning the day around.
Tasmanian art and the valley’s own story, gathered in one stop on Shingle Street — a good rainy-day outing.
Cool-climate wine and orchard country on the drive home, with plenty of cellar doors happy to pour what they grow.
River country at the valley’s southern end, and a small seaside town with a very different, saltier rhythm.
Ferries and boat trips across the water towards Bruny Island and the wider coast — worth a full day of its own.
Seasons and opening hours shift through the year, and some places close for a spell in winter. When you enquire we will share the local tips — and the best of what is actually open while you are here.
Tell us when you would like to come, who is travelling and what you would like to stay in.
Every enquiry is read by the park team and answered personally — usually with a couple of options and a quote for your dates.
